One day I went into a small restaurant to have dinner. I knew very little Italian， so I could not read the menu. I wanted to order some mushrooms， as Italy is famous for this food. However， I did not know the word for mushrooms. I called the waiter to help， but he did not know English at all. I took out a pencil and a piece of paper， and drew a picture of a mushroom. The waiter seemed to understand and left immediately. About half an hour later he returned with a large black umbrella. I was greatly disappointed. 早在上星期，老師就曾說過要在今天這節課上抽背，要我們好好準備。今天早讀課，老師又提起這件事，於是教室裏一下子喧鬧起來。

揪心的鈴聲響過之後，老師笑盈盈地走進了教室，看樣子也是滿懷希望而來。可我卻越發忐忑不安，會不會抽到我呢？菩薩保佑！

抽背拉開了序幕。我偷偷地環視了一下四周：Jzy的手在兩膝間使勁地搓着；Msy似乎在微微發抖；Lj的兩膝上平放着課本，一隻手拿着課本，低着頭，口中還在念念有詞，看樣子她佛腳還沒抱夠呢；不少同學，尤其是幾位三好生候選人倒是正襟危坐，一幅胸有成竹的樣子。

抽查過幾個人後，老師的.臉色晴轉多雲——多雲轉陰。那幾個倒黴的傢伙，背起來不是時有殘缺，就是畫蛇添足。我卻喜憂參半：喜的是，在未抽到我背書之前，已有幾個墊背的，憂的是背得不熟的同學不多，萬一老師大怒，後面背不出來豈不就糟了嗎？！

老師又提人了：“7號。”她突然咳嗽了一聲，我的心頓時提到了嗓子眼——別叫道9號！“8號！”老師大聲說道。

只見8號木然地站在那兒，低着頭，又是一個徐庶進曹營——一言不發。
